KUALA LUMPUR / ACCESSWIRE / July 1, 2021 / Darren Yaw Media launched its Latest News App (LANApp) geared towards college students in Malaysia. In an official announcement, Darren Yaw Media said Darren Yaw Media's Latest News App is a social networking app specifically for students in college and universities to create individual as well as group profiles in order to grow their friendship base and network.

To use Darren Yaw Media's Latest News App, new members create their own profile and tailor the profiles to their interests by answering prompts and making preferences. The app uses artificial intelligence which matches students to others of similar interests. Students can also filter according to club or association affiliations or courses. "When students create their Latest News App (LANApp) profile, they answer questions such as what course, home town, interests and then they can find and connect to others in their college or university using the in-app chat function," said Darren Yaw Media's Latest News App (LANApp) Chief Technology Officer Mark Yaw.

Everyone on the platform is verified as attending that particular college or university, so students are sure that they are engaging amongst other students from their college or university. All users can create customized feeds for news, and upcoming events or activities based on their personal interests, and club affiliations, which would be applicable to all students.

Although the app was intended to be a location or college-based app, Darren Yaw Media's Latest News App (LANApp) is currently beta testing a function to connect students from different campuses and universities among the five private universities and colleges it has signed up. "Considering the situation right now, with students attending online classes and not being able to physically meet their peers, we feel they will take the opportunity to reach out to more people through the Latest News App (LANApp)," Darren Yaw Media's Lee Foo Hoe.
