CN Logistics Launches New Electric Vehicles

Promoting Development of Green Logistics and
Building Sustainable Supply Chain with Brand Customers

[Hong Kong – 17 May 2022] A well-established international logistics solutions provider, CN Logistics International Holdings Limited (the “Company”, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”, stock code: 2130), is delighted to announce three new Electric Vehicles it purchased have officially been put into operation to further promote the development of green transportation in local logistics industry. Echoing the Hong Kong government's initiative on carbon neutrality, the Group will work with brand customers to build a greener supply chain and move towards a more eco-friendly and sustainable future.

In recent years, all sectors of society have paid more attention to sustainable development, especially on carbon emissions. The “Hong Kong 2030+” strategy announced by the Hong Kong government also sets out the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and one of the key actions is to promote the usage of new energy vehicles. The general public, end consumers, and even our clients in the luxury and high-end fashion sectors are all having higher expectations for environmental protection and energy conservation. Therefore, the Group actively reduces its carbon footprints in its daily operations and launched the one-stop green logistics service in 2021 to help the brand customers strengthen the handling of reusable resources such as packaging materials, hangers, and cartons. We also assist customers by providing consultation services on carbon emission, as well as tracking and neutralization of carbon emissions. Such services have obtained the “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” certificate and passed the international greenhouse gas emission standard (ISO14064-3) certification.

To promote waste reduction in the fashion industry and a cleaner supply chain, the three newly launched Electric Vehicles will be deployed together with the existing electric vans to support customers' daily operations and transportation of recycling materials. With the expanded electric fleet, the Group expected to reduce carbon footprint by 6,091 tons this year and increase the efficiency of emission reduction by 126% year-on-year. The expanded electric fleet not only strengthens our service capabilities in providing green logistics to brand customers, but also offsets part of the carbon footprint in our daily operations, helping to achieve the annual carbon reduction target set earlier.

Mr. Ngan Tim Wing, Executive Director and CEO of CN Logistics, commented: “The public now pays higher attention to environmental issues, sustainable consumption has thus become a common trend. All stakeholders in society have set higher expectations on how companies incorporate environmental protection elements into their business. As an integrated logistics service provider rooted in Hong Kong and well-connected with the world, CN Logistics has spared no effort in fulfilling our social corporate responsibility to promote green logistics, while taking lead to deepen and accelerate the low-carbon transformation. Apart from promoting green transportation in China and Hong Kong, we also extend the sustainable development concept to our subsidiaries around the world. Currently, our subsidiaries in Italy and Malaysia are carrying out the installation of solar panels for generating renewable energy to support daily operations. The Group always strives for sustainability in its day-to-day operations. Its effort and dedication are well-recognised in both local and global communities. Earlier this year, we received a Bronze certification from EcoVadis, the international rating platform on business sustainability.”

Mr. Ngan continued: “The Group understands clients’ needs in both logistics management and sustainable development. We hope to take the occasion of launching new electric vehicles to further cooperate with international brands and promote the business development. The big step in Hong Kong will help the Group to accumulate experience, so as to explore opportunities to introduce new energy vehicles in other regions, especially Europe and Southeast Asia. In the future, we will work with academia and other industry experts to continue promoting different sustainable development plans and make more contributions to the global society.”
